About Us

As the only girl and youngest of four in a Puerto Rican household, there are two character traits you are certain to develop: hard work and toughness. Leilani’s early years in San Diego, California set a foundation of family values and good work ethics. She often found herself as the only girl amongst her brothers and cousins while they did the “heavy lifting” of chores around the house, but she refused to be left out. Leilani did not accept gender defining roles that limited her ability and would often head to the mountains with her male family members, axe in hand, to chop wood for the winter. She attributes this approach to her uncle who would often share, “nothing is worth doing if you don’t have integrity and pride in your work.”

Leilani carries these ideals into everything she does and at the age of 15 used it to land her first paying job at Subway restaurants. Subway would be the catalyst to build a resume highlighting a versatile background including food service, customer service, Fragrance vendor, marketer and beauty consultant. Leilani’s work ethic and pleasant demeanor garnered the attention of other companies and as a result she would be recruited to be part of Red Robin’s training group which traveled around Las Vegas and Oregon onboarding newly opened restaurants. By 2005 she was married and ushered into a managerial role that allowed her to stay closer to home as she focused on starting a family. Shortly after the birth of her first daughter in 2006 and second in 2007 Leilani elected to focus on her family and become a full-time mom.

As if being a mom caring for two infants was not enough, Leilani began exploring her baking bug and found a niche creating cake pops… for fun. What began as a hobby to share with friends and family on special occasions blossomed into a full-fledged business. Leilani began producing cake pops for large scale events such as the UCLA commencement ceremony and Amy Rolof’s Flip Flops and Lemon Drops fundraiser. Eventually, Leilani’s daughters would begin attending school coupled with her love for children and helping others she felt called to become a foster parent. She and her family have since gained guardianship of her forever son.

She returned to the corporate arena accepting a position with one of the nation’s largest Brokerage General Agencies specializing in Long Term Care. Unfortunately, the pandemic of 2020 forced Leilani to reinvent herself as her company downsized and she was laid off. It is often said, where one door closes a window opens and this could not ring truer for Leilani. Her unshakeable desire to understand, connect and serve human beings opened the window to create Virtual Assistance Professionals which she now runs full-time. Leilani realized an industry need and coupled with her uncle’s mantra she strives daily to bring quality service she can be proud of to businesses of all sizes …and she has the resume to prove it.
